Bachelor of Science in Computer Science


The BS Computer Science Program includes the study of computing concepts and theories, algorithmic foundations and new development in computing. The program prepares students to design and create algorithmically complex software and develop new and effective algorithms for solving computing problems.

The programs also includes the study of the standards and practices in software engineering. It prepares students to acquire skills and disciplines required for designing, writing and modifying software components, modules and applications that comprise software solutions.

Program Outcomes

During the course of his/her study, the student will be able to:

Learn mathematical foundations, algorithmic principles, and computer science theory in the modelling and design of computer-based systems based on the current IT trends;

PO2

design, implement, and evaluate a computer based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs with appropriate constraints for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations;

PO3

develop a complex problem and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution;

PO4

apply knowledge and skills of computing, science, and mathematics appropriate to the discipline;

evaluate and communicate effectively about complex computing activities with various communities, such as computing experts and society at large, using appropriate levels of discourse;

PO6

implement and understand professional, ethical, legal, security, and social issues and responsibilities relevant to professional computing practice;
